5th generation of computer Brian R. Gaines. This book is written for york university. This book is also written for University of Toronto and University of Calgary. The 5th generation start from 1981 to on word. In 1981 the Japanese scientists start working on the fifth generation of computing systems (FGCS). Furthermore, this will integrate with very large scale integration (vlsi) and data base system. It also integrate with artificial intelligence and human computer interface. It also deal with new range of computer which are similar to persons in their own respect. The results was shocking at beginning but then it was redesign. This book consists of 11 topics and contains 53 pages.

Every computer or system has some objectives. The objective of 5th generation is to have a computer with 10 billion floating point operations a second (10 GFLOPS). It should also have a one billion bytes memory with a speed of 1.5 billion bytes a second.
